Having a basic resume will do nothing for you. Highlight your special skills, the reasons why your previous employers loved you. If you were with a family from the time a child was a newborn until they started Kindergarten then every parent can envision the stages of development you worked through with that family.
Use your resume to point out those areas where you went above and beyond the call of duty. Did you potty train a child, make home made organic baby food? Did you take a child to doctors appointments or teach him how to read? Did you do overnights or teach a child how to read and write in another language besides English? Pointing out the same routine duties that everyone else does will NOT get you noticed, created a stimulating environment where the little boy was able to express himself artistically at an early age, now that is an entry on your nanny resume that will get you NOTICED!!!
Use your resume to show a potential employer why you are not like everyone else!
